Västerbotten County

Västerbotten enters the register with one project: EdgeConneX in Skellefteå. On 24 September 2026 the municipality granted a building permit for the first two data-centre buildings on the former Northvolt site at Bergsbyn. Construction requires a start notice, and contracted grid capacity has not been disclosed.

The documented decision is Skellefteå's building permit of 24 September 2026 for DC01 and DC02 on the property Ackumulatorn 3, case 2026-3140. SVT reports that EdgeConneX is the applicant and that the first phase is planned to be complete in 2028.

Planned power figures come from consultation documents reported by SVT: seven buildings of 96–150 MW each. The operator's February 2026 notice described potential campus capacity of up to one gigawatt. Neither is a contracted connection. Skellefteå Kraft says EdgeConneX and Lyten are taking over Northvolt's former grid connections but does not disclose the contracted capacity.
